Matrices and Determinants

Matrix:
A rectangular array of numbers enclosed by a pair of brackets such as:
                 
is called a matrix. The horizontal lines of numbers are called rows and the vertical lines of numbers are called columns. The numbers used in rows or columns are said to be the entries or elements of the matrix.
Important Note:
The matrix is called real if all of its elements are real.
Types Of Matrix:
1. Row Matrix
2. Column Matrix
3. Rectangular Matrix
4. Square Matrix
5. Diagonal Matrix
6. Scalar Matrix
7. Unit Matrix or Identity Matrix
8. Null Matrix or Zero Matrix
9. Equal Matrices
